AN EVENING WITH CHARLIE LANDSBOROUGH

Posted: 10 March 2010

Charlie and his five-piece band are well known for keeping concertgoers enthralled. His telling lyrics and his engaging anecdotes captivate audiences wherever he performs. On stage he is as entertaining as he is melodic and there’s always a good dose of humour thrown in.
.
His music, which ranges from inspirational to country, from ballad to anthem, hits the spot.  He has dedicated fans the world over, even as far afield as Australia where his 2008 tour won him a host of new admirers. Indeed one of Charlie’s new songs is titled “Australia In My Heart” and a return tour of that continent is planned for next year.

To coincide with the UK tour  this hugely popular singer releases a brand new album, “Nothing Lasts Forever”. Out in September, it features 18 tracks in total – 12 self-penned songs and six covers.  It was produced in Spain by Pete Ware.

Commenting on the title track Charlie said “There’s a youthful belief that you’ll never grow old, you’re cocooned in a world of good health, good times and seeming timelessness without any real thoughts of tomorrow. Later you look back and wonder where it all went - and yet one thing has emerged stronger – a deeper and more mature love.”

As if a new album and a major tour weren’t enough, however, Charlie also releases his keenly awaited autobiography. Entitled “Storyteller” the book is published by Trinity Newspapers in September. It details, in Charlie’s own inimitable fashion, the early years in Birkenhead where he grew up (with all its attendant struggles) to his time in the Army, his Christianity, the 20 years teaching and, in his 50s, the taste of musical success. His rise was meteoric and since his first big hit, “What Colour Is the Wind”, he has never looked back.
